Tips for Digital Exams

During March 2024, we moved from our current computer-based exam delivery to Cambridge English Qualifications Digital, which offer you even more benefits.

Cambridge English Qualifications Digital are:

  • Fast: Results will be delivered in 5-10 working days
  • Flexible: Exam sessions are available up to 365 days a year. *Talk to your chosen exam centre about their schedule
  • Preferred: Digital features help you focus and put you in control
  • Secure: Test content is randomised for increased security

Available from A2 Key to C2 Proficiency, Cambridge English Qualifications Digital provide an enhanced exam experience and a faster, flexible way to get a Cambridge English Qualification. They test the same knowledge and skills as paper-based exams, with digital features to help you take control and perform at your best.

Although the format of the exams is different, they test the same knowledge and skills as our paper-based exams. There’s no need to change how you use your course material to prepare for the digital exams. For the best chance of success, familiarise yourself with the digital experience through practice activities. Explore free resources, including digital sample tests and video tutorials, which can be found by choosing your level on our exam preparation page.

What are the features of the digital exams that candidates prefer?

  • For the Listening test, headphones with volume control help you listen comfortably and concentrate
  • The Writing test has an automatic word count and you can easily edit your work
  • In the Reading test, you can make notes, highlight text and review your answers
  • The Speaking test is face-to-face, to help develop real world communication skills
